Usually, responsive or non-responsive grid systems rely on the fact that all all columns are equal in width, or are a multiple of a singular column.
Singularity allows developers to set up columns width that have absolutely nothing in common with each other, but keep the responsiveness of the grid intact.
Works with symetric grids nevertheless.
